LEAVES
Leaves, particularly when submerged in water, interact with light in captivating ways. Sunlight filtering through the water’s surface creates dappled patterns of light and shadow on the leaves, producing a dynamic interplay of colors and tones. Water currents, also, gently move leaves as well as their reflections on the surface, imparting a sense of fluidity and motion to the scene. This quality lends itself well to my endeavors in painterly photography, where blurred motion and softened edges evoke a sense of movement and vitality.
